Berlin, November 24, 2009 – Family photos, exam work or job applications – everyone saves important and confidential documents to their computers these days. The main danger to documents like these comes from virus attacks and user error, in particular accidental deletion.
O&O UnErase 6 offers users a chance to immedaitely recover lost data. As soon as data goes missing, O&O UnErase scans the hard disk. The advanced search function allows for more precise, customized searches to be carried out much quicker. The data and directories that are found are displayed for the user in Windows Explorer-style so that individual files can be easily and quickly rescued with just the push of a button. The files that O&O UnErase locates are also rescued with corresponding file information. O&O UnErase 6 is Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 compatible and available exclusively as a download version.
New and enhanced functions
Supports all Windows file systems: O&O UnErase will allow you to recover data on any Windows-supported drive, e.g., memory cards, digital cameras, USB Sticks or MP3 players. Exception: exfat file systems.
File search with advanced options: Thanks to various filter functions, searches can be refined to search for file name, size, date and even text fragments.
Text fragments: If a file being searched for includes known text – for example exam notes – then the search can be refined to look for files containing these text fragments. The search can be carried out for various files, regardless of format or content.
Recovery of files and directories: The data and directories that are found are displayed for the user in Windows Explorer-style so that individual files can be easily and quickly rescued with just the push of a button.
Recovery on network drives (Shares und UNC): Deleted data is shown as "free" space on the hard disk. Data recovered can overwrite these free areas and thus make a potential rescue of that original data impossible. By saving data to connected network drives, users can prevent this permanent data loss from happening.

O&O UnErase is available exclusively as a download version. The full version costs 29.90 Euros / US$ 29.95 / GBP 19.99 (Update 19.90 Euros / US$ 19.95 / GBP 12.99).
The previous versions from O&O UnErase for corporate customers and service providers are no longer available, but owners of these versions can upgrade to O&O DiskRecovery 6. An upgrade to O&O DiskRecovery 6 Admin Edition costs 198.00 Euros / US$ 239.40 / GBP 118.80 net. For service providers in the data rescue field, the upgrade to O&O DiskRecovery 6 Tech Edition costs 375.00 Euros / US$ 575.40 / GBP 274.20 net. Interested users can download a free trial version of O&O UnErase 6 from the O&O Software website. With the trial version, users can search for lost data and use the integrated preview functions for 30 days.
