O&O guarantees full functionality of its products under Windows 7. This means that all affected products released* after the 1st May, 2009 will receive a free update to a Windows 7-compatible version. Products released* prior to the 1st May, 2009 will also appear in a Windows 7-compatible version. We will inform you promptly as to whether these updates are also free of charge.

Our Windows 7 Technology Guarantee is supplemented by our basic O&O product technology guarantee. Should a customer purchase an old version of an O&O product less than 60 days prior to release of a new version, then they are entitled to update to the new version free of charge. Customers can check which products are already compatible with Windows 7 in the respective System Requirements field of each individual product.

Explanation

Windows 7, completed on the 22nd of July, 2009, is being made available in stages for publishers, resellers and then customers. Microsoft has been distributing copies of the final version of Windows 7 to selected groups (MSDN and MS TechNet subscribers). O&O Software GmbH also has a final version of Windows 7 and we have begun compatibility tests. Because test scenarios are very complex and any statements made are binding, a concrete statement on compatibility of O&O products will be made later. However, in order to assure our customers that their purchased products will also run under Windows 7, we guarantee their run-compatibility today. We will guarantee this run-capability through cost-effective upgrades or, in the case of minor upgrades, free updates.

The run-capability of our products under Windows 7 will be found on the product pages on our website. The future compatibility with Windows 7 will be detailed there. You can also find out if the product is compatible with older Windows versions. Our license and maintenance programs include the possibility of downgrading to an older version, if you are using older operating systems not supported by the current version of our programs. This could be the case for Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000, for example. Our Maintenance Agreements also entitle our customers to continue receiving support for product versions where support has, strictly speaking, expired. Our aim there is to make sure you can use our products as long as possible, and to secure investments for the future.
