Berlin, June 7, 2006 - Every user knows the problem: when a file is deleted, a gap is
left where the file was located on the storage media. At the next attempt to write
data, Windows immediately uses this space again. Should this not be sufficient to
allow the complete recording of the file, it is fragmented and the remaining data is
stored at another location. As a result it takes longer and longer for the system to
track down a requested file and to merge the fragmented sections with the original:

This is where O&O Defrag V8.5 steps in, restoring lost capacity and maximizing the
entire systems performance. To this end O&O Defrag offers five defragmentation
methods, all of which were optimized again for the new version, enabling it to cater

regard.
O&O ActivityGuard Pro: This module monitors the workload of the system resources
and through O&O Defrag adapts the usage according to the current status. This
means users can not only continue working on their PCs during the defragmentation
process, they can also implement resource-intensive procedures.
O&O Defrag Screensaver: The screensaver function, formerly only available
separately, is from version 8.5 onwards part and parcel of O&O Defrag. It starts
automatically during work breaks and immediately begins optimizing the computer.
As soon as users resume their work, the screensaver stops itself. The
