Berlin, 18 September, 2007 - With O&O DiskImage Server Edition, O&O Software GmbH of Berlin, Germany has released it’s newest imaging solution for Windows server operating systems. This now expands upon the solutions provided for workstations by the Professional Edition from O&O DiskImage to include server solutions. It enables administrators to create complete and consistent images of servers during running operations. The current version supports all servers from Windows 2000, as well as all current desktop operating systems in both 32 and 64 Bit versions.

With O&O DiskImage Server Edition, backing up Windows servers has never been so easy. A complete backup of s server can be created with just a few mouse clicks. Incremental images can also be created, saving only the changes since the last image was created. This saves both time and disk space.

An additional Start CD based on Windows PE means a backup of a server can be made even when the operating system cannot or should not start up. With the unique O&O DriverLoader, included as standard with the Server Edition, every Windows driver can be dynamically loaded during the CD start phase. Restoring an image onto new or exotic hardware is therefore much easier than with other similar products.

As well as optimizing the speed at which images are created and restored, particular emphasis has also been placed on saving resources that are often so precious for servers. During creation of an image or image restoration, the load on the server is kept to an absolute minimum, meaning users accessing the server notice nothing as the entire process occurs in the background. The current version also allows for imaging and restoration of dynamic and GPT volumes. Similarly, a forensic image can backup damaged and unrecognized file systems too.

Using O&O DiskImage Server Edition, an entire server can be backed up with just a few clicks and with the bare minimum of practice. All settings up until selecting the appropriate storage location are made automatically. O&O DiskImage can write the imaged data onto CDs or DVDs. A free burning tool has been integrated specifically for this purpose, but all other popular programs can also be used. The data to be imaged is optimally compressed by O&O DiskImage in order to save disk space, and it can be strongly encrypted too to prevent any unwanted access.

O&O DiskImage 2.1 Server Edition is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Vista as well as Windows Server 2000/2003, and is available in 32 Bit and 64 Bit variations. The full version costs EUR 299.00 net. The full version can be ordered over the internet and is also available through retailers as a retail box which includes a printed User’s Guide.

For all owners of other Imaging solutions (e.g. Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost) O&O offers the chance of a very reasonable Cross Upgrade. Prices are available on request.

O&O Software offers licensing options for companies and special conditions for governmental and educational institutions through master agreements. Interested users can download a free 30 day trial version of the product from the O&O Software website. Operators can use the trial version to image and restore data under Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows Server 2000/2003.
