O&O Defrag 31 with new technology, improved performance, and even greater clarity
O&O Software GmbH has released the latest version of its classic defragmentation software, O&O Defrag 31. In addition to a completely redesigned user interface, the underlying technology has also been comprehensively overhauled. The result: noticeably faster speeds, greater stability, and further improved optimization for modern Windows systems.
New Interface, Improved Navigation
The O&O Defrag 31 interface has been completely redesigned – both in terms of appearance and navigation. The new design is based on the current Windows style and provides a significantly clearer structure, faster orientation, and easier everyday use. Important functions are more directly accessible, workflows have been streamlined, and the overall user experience has been noticeably improved. The classic view remains available for experienced users.
Optimized for SSDs, NVMe, and modern systems
O&O Defrag 31 continues to build on its proven core functions, while consistently expanding them to meet current requirements. This includes, in particular, support for modern SSD and NVMe drives, as well as the ability to analyze and optimize multiple drives simultaneously. Also new is a significantly improved drive health indicator based on S.M.A.R.T. data, which makes problems visible at an early stage.
A particular highlight remains O&O IntensiveOptimize: In an isolated Windows environment, the system is fully optimized independently of the running system – including access to otherwise locked files. This is complemented by Boot Time Optimization (BTO), which reorganizes all files even before Windows starts. Both technologies naturally also support BitLocker-encrypted drives.
More than just defragmentation: integrated system tools
In addition to classic defragmentation, O&O Defrag 31 offers numerous integrated tools for system optimization: O&O DiskCleaner automatically removes unnecessary files, while O&O StartupManager ensures faster system startup. O&O AppBuster helps remove unwanted applications, and O&O Check&Repair checks and repairs system components.
O&O DriveLED provides additional transparency by visualizing drive access directly in the taskbar. O&O VisualDisk also offers a redesigned view of write access to SSD and NVMe drives.
Completely rebuilt
A lot has changed under the hood as well: O&O Defrag 31 has been completely rebuilt technically, resulting in significantly more stable and efficient operation. Optimizations run more reliably and quickly, while system load has been further reduced.
“With version 31, we not only completely redesigned O&O Defrag from a technical standpoint, but also modernized the entire user interface based on customer feedback,” says Olaf Kehrer, Managing Director of O&O Software GmbH. “The new interface makes many things simpler and more directly accessible – at the same time, we have significantly improved background performance. This was precisely the result we wanted.”
Optimization that runs smoothly in the background
O&O Defrag 31 is designed for home users who want to sustainably improve the performance and lifespan of their PCs – without having to constantly worry about manual maintenance. Automatic optimizations, intelligent analysis functions, and a stable technical foundation ensure that Windows systems remain consistently fast and reliable.
